About Us

3D Cabinetry & Custom Renovations is a Boise-based custom cabinetry and kitchen remodeling company founded by Josh Corson and Jason Soubliere, built on the belief that exceptional work and honest dealing aren't trade-offs — they're the same thing.

As a two-person operation, every project gets direct attention from the people who built the business. No job gets handed off to a crew you've never met. We know the Treasure Valley housing stock, we care about your home, and we stand behind everything we build.

Our process: 1) Free consultation — we take measurements and give an honest read on scope and budget. 2) Custom design and quote — a detailed proposal with material specs, timeline, and fixed pricing. 3) Build and install — on schedule, with your home respected. 4) Final walkthrough — we don't consider the job done until you do.

Service Area

We serve the entire Treasure Valley: Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Star, and Garden City, Idaho. For larger projects, we're open to discussing locations slightly outside this area.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Boise, Idaho?

Kitchen remodel costs in the Boise area typically range from $8,000 for a focused cabinet refresh up to $60,000+ for a full open-concept transformation with premium materials. The biggest cost drivers are kitchen size, whether the layout is changing, and your choice of cabinet box material and finish. Our free online estimator gives you a rough range based on your specific selections in under 5 minutes — no phone call required.

Do you offer financing or payment plans?

We work with a few trusted local lending partners who specialize in home improvement financing. We're happy to connect you with options during your consultation. Typically we require a deposit at project start, a progress payment at cabinet delivery, and a final payment at completion.

Why does custom cabinetry cost more than big-box store cabinets?

Stock cabinets are built to standard sizes in factories and sit in warehouses until sold. Custom cabinets are built to the exact dimensions of your kitchen, with your chosen materials, finishes, and hardware. You get a precise fit, better materials, significantly longer lifespan, and a look that's genuinely yours.

What is your minimum project size?

Our projects typically start at $8,000. For smaller budgets, we're happy to refer you to Noah Kramer at Bird Dog Property Maintenance & Remodel — a trusted local contractor who does excellent work at smaller project scales.

How long does a kitchen remodel take?

A cabinet refresh typically takes 1–2 weeks. A full kitchen remodel with new cabinetry, counters, and flooring generally runs 4–8 weeks depending on scope and material lead times. We give you a detailed timeline in your proposal before any work begins, and we communicate proactively if anything changes.

Will I be able to use my kitchen during the remodel?

During a full remodel, your kitchen will be out of commission for most of the project. We recommend setting up a temporary kitchen station — a microwave, mini fridge, and a hot plate go a long way. We stage the demo and install sequence to minimize disruption, and we always clean up at the end of each work day.

Do I need to hire a separate plumber or electrician?

For projects involving layout changes or appliance relocations, yes — licensed plumbers and electricians are required for that work. We coordinate directly with trusted local trades on your behalf so you're not juggling multiple contractors. Their costs are broken out clearly in your quote.

What happens if there are surprises once demo starts?

It happens — older homes especially can have hidden plumbing, wiring, or structural quirks. We document everything, explain the options clearly, and never proceed with additional work without your approval and a written change order. No surprise bills.

What's the difference between plywood and MDF cabinet boxes?

Plywood is stronger, holds screws better over time, and resists moisture — it's what we recommend for most kitchens. MDF has a smoother surface (great for painted finishes) but is heavier, less moisture-resistant, and not as durable long-term. Particleboard is the lowest cost option and is common in stock cabinetry, but we generally steer clients toward plywood for anything that needs to last 20+ years.

What cabinet door styles are most popular right now in Boise?

Shaker remains the most requested style across every design aesthetic — it works equally well in modern, transitional, and farmhouse kitchens. Flat panel (slab) doors are gaining ground fast in contemporary builds. We're also seeing strong interest in two-tone kitchens with shaker uppers and flat panel lowers.

Can I see samples of materials and finishes before committing?

Absolutely. We bring samples to your home consultation so you can see them in your actual lighting alongside your flooring, countertops, and wall colors. Colors and finishes look completely different under showroom lighting versus your kitchen — seeing them in place before you commit is something we insist on.

Are you licensed and insured in Idaho?

Yes. 3D Cabinetry & Custom Renovations is fully licensed and carries general liability insurance. We're happy to provide proof of insurance before any project starts — just ask.

Do you serve areas outside of Boise?

We serve the entire Treasure Valley — Boise, Meridian, Eagle, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Star, and Garden City. For larger projects, we're open to discussing locations slightly outside this area.
